Hint

Multiplication before addition.

$3 \times 5 = 15$ , then $8 + 15 = 23$ .

2. Work out $(8 + 3) \times 5$ .

Hint

Cost $= 120 \times 0.65 + 8 \times 1.85$ . Multiplication before addition.

Full working

$120 \times 0.65 = 78$ and $8 \times 1.85 = 14.80$ , so the cost is $78 + 14.80 = £92.80$ .
